The Manna product arrived in excellent condition just a few days after I ordered it. I use the Manna beetle flour to make choc. chip cookies from the recipe on-line at Mannafoods.org.. worked out well. Wm. Gilbert, Palmer, Alaska USA

I was so pleased at how quickly I received my Manna after I placed my online order. I cook a lot of vegetable based curries, and a scoop of Manna boosts the protein and make them that much healthier. It’s versatile and blends well with whatever it’s added to.

Tastes great. Better than the other insect powders, was buying from exo and this is much cheaper for better quality.

  5. Sheryl Rodriquez (verified owner)

    Tastes great, kind of addicting

For a weird thing like beetle meat, the flour tastes pretty good. I eat it by itself at times, though I wouldn’t recommend inhaling before you do–mistakes were made.

Goes great in a post-workout shake (mine is oat milk, banana, mixed berries with kale, and Manna Protein). I also put it in my veggie burritos so I can get my protein, save some money, and feel like I’m not contributing to the animal farming industry without sacrificing my protein requirements.

I’m going to be buying more to see how much muscle I can grow on just bug meat. I’m looking forward to it!

Entomophagy (eating “insects”) will be a great way of reducing the economic impact of other culinary choices. I think it’s rather brave to make insect powder, and I have been waiting for the right one. This is an artisanal powder, made with more ethical and safe practices than cricket powder, let alone the ethics that go into the food that reaches the market – especially when you consider how mealworms live their lives and how practical farming them is compared to crickets, as this site points out.

Yes, it does taste a bit like sunflower seeds. There is a slight bitter aftertaste which I’m getting used to, and I’ve found that the taste will overwhelm my chocolate cocomilk morning drinks (haven’t tried with smoothies). For that reason, I take it with water daily before and after working out (I mix it with a fork haha). I shifted the dietary amount to something that suits me, and I replaced the original scoop with a tbsp scoop, but one scoop = 3 tbsp. 1 tbsp = 10 grams of powder (I also scaled it out).

Other than that, I’ve baked with it once and it wasn’t bad but definitely a little different, I’ll be baking with it again (especially since I’ve set myself a subscription).

The contents of this bag gives me more productive energy and I feel more nourished. I don’t feel nearly as hungry in the morning, and there’s dense nutrients in here that are sold as individual pills or beauty gummies (biotin, for example). My nails, hair, skin feel better.

Again on the taste, some people are going to have issues with it – although it is certainly better tasting than some naturopathic/ayurvedic products I’ve had in the past. If the idea of eating insects gets you squeamish but you want to consume this powder, just make it a pattern to take it. I imagine a pill form of this might be popular someday, and I’m excited to see the western market open its arms to entomophagic practices. I like this product and strongly recommend based off my current use.

    My favorite protein source!

This is a nutritional tidal wave. I’ve mixed into into oatmeal, and mashed sweet potato, and even have had it mixed with water. I would suggest mixing it with something. I’ve mixed it in with oatmeal and blueberries, mashed sweet potato, and with yogurt. It has almost a wheat germ taste (sometimes I detect hints of nutritional yeast also). I be also slammed it in water (which works in a pinch.) It’s easy to digest, I’m having 3-5 servings a day with meals, and I’m feeling cast iron.

I have been searching for a better protein source for shakes for YEARS. I’ve tried whey, goat whey, brown rice, sprouted brown rice, Sproutje pumpkin mixed with sprouted pumpkin and mixed with sprouted pea, egg white, cricket, yada yada yada. I finally found my perfect source!

Love this product! So far, I’ve made chocolate chip cookies with manna and I feel great about adding sustainable protein to a delicious treat. My kids said they were the best cookies ever! We’re really excited to try more recipes. It’s such a mild flavor, there are endless possibilities.
